We went with a large group at 7PM on a Saturday night 2-2-08, expecting to pay $15.95 per person as the web site indicated, but when the bill came it was $23.95 ea. Others in our group had paid the lower price last time, so apparently this restaurant recently jacked up the price by 50%.
At these new prices, I can not recommend this restaurant. It was our first visit (we frequent an asian buffet in Lake Forest, with a smaller but similar food selection, much more reasonable prices, and better service).
The service at Hokkaido on the night we visited was problematic: they kept running out of silverware and plates, and the guy at the mongolian BBQ station was extremely slow and took the plates out of order. Mine took at least 10 minutes before it was ready.
If cost is not an object and you don't mind a noisy and chaotic environment with mediocre service, you might enjoy it. Otherwise you may want to bypass this place.
