We were escorted to a suede booth overlooking the main dining room. There was a singer by the name of Luca who sounded EXACTLY like Frank Sinatra. The singer was awesome and definitely set the vibe for this supper club. He performs Wednesday through Saturday night. The design is ultra chic and very slick. It is a throwback to Vegas in the 60's. A great date place as I had dined here before with my GF. As I was now hanging with my buddy it felt oddly romantic.
The server looked and sounded sharp. He recommended a couple great wines by the glass. A Lincourt Chardonnay and a Pinot which I forgot the name of. The wines were very inexpensively priced as the 678 Group prices all their wines well below their competitors. We had a seafood platter which was kind of expensive, but unreal! I had the wedge salad and my buddy had a lobster bisque soup. This soup was one of the tastiest soups I have ever enjoyed. Since the restaurant is so romantic, I figured "Why not, I'll share his soup." The pretzel bread they brought out was piping hot and you dunk it in this melted blue cheese sauce. We ordered a 12 oz. Filet and a Kansas City Strip. Both were medium rare and cooked to perfection. The rub they use on their steaks is so awesome. We had the "locked and loaded" mash and the mushrooms. We finished the evening with a chocolate decadence cake and some espresso. All good.
The GM approached our table and thanked us for coming. He has been at Chapter 8 for 2 years and admitted that they had some struggles in their early going. Don't all restaurants?? They now have a great chef who was previously the Executive Chef from Mastro's. Their service staff is really well trained and responds to every small need (our waiter requested the valet to bring our car forward so we wouldn't wait). Chapter 8 is a big winner.
Pros: food, service, atmosphere
