The worst restaurant experience I have ever had in the Portland Metro area. Went to lunch with a group of friends and we all ordered at the same time. Everyone in the group ordered Pad Thai and my friends all recieved their orders and I was told that mine was on the way by our waiter. After 10 minutes I inquired with the waiter about my ordered and was told again it was coming. At this time my lunch group is already a quarter to half done with thier meals. 5 more minutes pass and the waiter brings me the wrong order. I have recieved no apology for the long wait and inquire what has happened to my simple order of Pad That that everyone at my table is eating. I am told at that time that my order was given to another customer. I have still recieved no apology from the waiter and after my lunch group has finished thier lunch my order finally arrives with a to go box in his hand. If I wanted my meal to go I would have ordered it to go. Due to the mistakes of the restaurant I ask for a discount on the price of the meal and was given none and still no apology and the staff take no responsibility of thier mistakes. I refused to pay for the meal and got up to leave. As I leave I hear the waiter offer a person in my lunch group my meal for free. This upset me the most in that the restaurant staff takes no responsibility for thier lack of the word service. They were not willing to give me, an African American customer, a discount for thier lack of service but offered my White co worker my meal for free. \r

Good food is only part of what makes a good restaurant. Good service is also a huge part in the experience and when you recieve none, the food does not taste that good anymore. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and have run into mistakes happening. At every other place I have dined the staff always apologized for the mistake and took responsibility. Thai Ginger does not know what the word personal responsibility is and the food is just ok.
