On 2/8/08, I ordered a delivery of Chinese food for dinner from Toss Asian Cafe. One of the items we ordered was sesame chicken, which turned out to be a box no less than half-full of broccoli. In the take-out menu, under the entrees, it says ?Dinner served with steamed rice? and does not say anything about being half broccoli. Nobody in my family likes broccoli, and having gotten what we considered to be very little sesame chicken, I immediately called to complain. The owner/manager that I spoke with was instantly defensive, argumentative, and rude. She said things like, ?I don?t care? [that I we didn?t get what we ordered or wanted], and many other things that indicated that she has absolutely zero concern for being ethically fair or decent to her paying customers. She finally said, ?If you want your refund, you have to come pick it up.? When she said to bring the broccoli, I told her that it had already been thrown in the trash. At one point, an employee answered the phone and said, ?Look, she told you to come pick up your refund.? As told, I made the 15 minute each way drive to the restaurant to pick it up. My husband to get it, and he was told that they would not give a refund to him without the broccoli. To be petty and spiteful, she wanted us to dig food out of the trash! Shame on her! It is my belief that she never had any intention of refunding my money. They have menus that are deceitful; they are not honest and forthright about fixing their mistakes; they lied and made me drive all the way down there only to refuse to do what they said they would. It is despicable the way we were treated. We deserved our refund w/o this obnoxious ordeal.
