I took my dog here because he wasn’t eating and was throwing up. They immediately wanted to do exploratory surgery. I wasn’t able to come up with astronomical amount of money that they were requesting instantly. They told me that if I did not act soon, he could die and would be in a great deal of pain. These are the options they gave me:\r
- Put him to sleep\r
- Sign him over to the vet. Then they would make the decision to do the surgery or not. If the did do the surgery, and he recovered, they would then adopt him out to SOMEONE ELSE!\r
I was beside myself, hysterical; I had no idea what to do. I called a friend and she recommended that I go for a second opinion at the Ocean State animal hospital in East Greenwich. I drove from povar straight to the ocean state vet. They gave him fluids and PEPCID AC AND HE WAS FINE! Just an hour earlier I was faced with the decision of giving him up or killing him. He has been fine since. I will never ever go to POVAR again.
