When I went into premature labor with our twins, my husband and I were told we could not give birth at the local hospital. We were given a choice of 3 areas with Neonatal Intensive Care Units. My husband had lived in that area in the past and loved the southern hospitality. We chose Roanoke ( Community Hospital at that time). Our stress was so high with a strange hospital, an hour and a half from home, and strange doctors. Our children required some care when they born and remained in the NICU for weeks. Roanoke treated our newborns with excellent care in a nurturing environment. I was also treated with respect and dignity. Before my surgery, the Resident Physician had already won my trust; Not an easy thing as I am a nurse. We still take our twins to see their nurses. If you want to be treated like family, this hospital is for you!!
