My experience was horrible, unforgettable and disturbing. My father was a patient in ICU. On more then one occasion his vent tube became disconnected and the day nurse attendent was too busy to respond. I can only imagine the type of care my father received in late hours when we were not present to monitor his condition. The hospital is understaffed and uncaring. Our response when we urgently approaced the front desk is "I am talking" We stated that my father's vent tube became disconnected. The nurse was indifferent. My father eventually passed away and I must continually ask myself if we were, in part, responsible for his death by leaving him at Parma Hospital. ICU is not as it once was. The floor is more representative of an understaffed nursing home. Today's heart centers are more indicative of the the type of care once provided by ICU. One of our family members present the entire time is an experienced nurse who many times cut through the bureaucracy to garner basic car
