I found Akasha Yoga while wandering around UTC when I first moved to San Diego. (It was a little hard to find but it's down the hill from the Whole Foods). I stopped in and the people there were really friendly and down to earth. It didn't have a false, new-agey vibe and it certainly didn't feel like a large athletic gym. The prices were shockingly reasonable (new student special was 5 classes for $30) and the atmosphere was beautiful and intimate. Two of the studio walls are windows and since it's on the second floor you get a nice view of the tree tops. My favorite part of the studio is the teachers... they do a really good job of incorporating the philosophy of yoga into the postures and they encourage you to be open to whatever it is you're feeling. And they take the time to make sure you don't hurt yourself. (I was happy about that because I'm never quite sure if I'm doing things correctly). I'm very grateful to have found this place.
Pros: Great teachers who understand yoga, different class offerings, reasonable prices
Cons: a little hard to find
