The Riverview Restaurant is one of Portland's best kept secrets. My wife and I are so glad that we stumbled upon it on the computer and tried it out. It is set away from city lights in a large treed forest with a river running past the deck. Inside, a soaring ceiling, exposed beam ceiling and two fireplaces make for a very inviting evening. While a jazz pianist played Christmas standards and a few snow flakes fell past the windows, it was easy to forget that we were 8 minutes past the Troutdale truck stop. (Use exit 18 - Oxbow Park/Jordan).\r
The Grilled Salmon over rice was outstanding and the Ravioli was delicious. I can't speak for the other entrees, but a lot of care went into the dinners we had.\r
Even with our young toddler joining us, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I can not relate to other reviewers describing poor or snobby service.\r
We will definitely return to The Riverview and highly recommend it to family and others.
Pros: Location, setting, food, service
Cons: I have none. Kids are welcome but kids may not appreciate the restaurant
