Walter Payton is by far the hardest school to get into in Chicago. Alot of people are actually surprised to know that is a public high school and not private. It is a college preparatory institution of the 6 (I think) that are in the city. The curriculum is very similar, and in some cases, exceeds that of colleges and universities. The teachers are the best, alot of them have at least their master's degrees and have graduated from top-tier institutions like MIT, Harvard, and Princeton. They really push you, and care enough to set up times before and afterschool to assist students with homework, and other issues they may have. There are alot of activities (i.e., sports, academic and ethnic clubs) for them to get involved in...a lot. It architecturally gorgeous located in the north side of downtown. It has see through windows, and at times makes you feel like you're in a big mall or airport. There are laptops available for every students and alot of programs accessible to help students develop (i.e., speed reading, test preparation like SAT, ACT, etc.). I can go on and on, but it is a fantastic place that overly prepares you for college and beyond.
