Phone bait and switch 12/17/2008

Even though they didn't sell me the car, I assumed that I will get the best Subaru maintenance on my Legacy at a dealership's service center. It wasn't until I had a 40something month service that I questioned their service. The phone quote was for a $600 service, and the bill read almost $200 more than that. On the verge of my tears, Wentworth dropped the bill by $100. I appreciated their responsive to my claim that I was misinformed. But the experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and the next day, a nail in my tire that they fixed free of charge. Four months later, I make an appointment for an oil change and find out it will cost $60 to put my snow tires on. Les Schwab will do it for $50, but since I was already going to be there might as well have Wentworth do it. So, imagine my frustration when I got the bill and it was $20 over what I was quoted on the phone. Again, they reduced the bill based on my claim. I appreciate their courtesy, but am ANGRY that for a second time I was mislead by the service department's pricing. And I think it's strange that their cashier and service department have different estimates. more
