Hurstbourne Animal Hospital does define excellence! They have an enormous success rate in the treatment of the deadly disease, Parvo. In reading Brittany L.'s review, I am sure that her puppy was being treated for parvo at Hurstbourne Animal Hospital at the time it was written. The mortality rate for this illness is very, very high. Chances of survival are slim. The fact that her puppy evidently recovered is remarkable and is proof positive of the outstanding care administered by this clinic. Parvo indeed has a distinctive odor and there is nothing that can be done about it until the puppy is well (it then dissipates on its own). Also, being that the disease is so highly contagious, all items used to treat the puppy must be kept in the isolation room until the end of the day when they can be disposed of safely and properly. Nothing that goes into the room can leave. This includes thermometers! Cross contamination in the clinic can be disastrous for other puppies arriving for appointmen
