After upgrading to Vista our spare HD with all of our photos, videos, files suddenly crashed. I took the HD out of the desktop and brought it into work for the IT guys to check out. \r

In the process the unit was knocked off my desk and the IT guys couldn't get the disk to mount at all. Looked around for ages on the internet and must have called a half dozen firms for indicative quotes. \r

Was shocked to hear the cost $1,500+ so when I came across the 'economy' service offering at California Data Recovery Services, I went over to chat it through with them and was greatly re-assured so left it for an evaluation. \r

They quickly determined it was a software related issue so at the bottom end of the pricing range and we agreed for the recovery to proceed based on an estimate of $250 - $600. \r

Final price was $350 which was excellent given they were in a position to probably charge at the higher end given my lack of options!! Work was completed and we had our HD backed-up within a cou
