Hands down this is some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. I tried Gaetano's for the first time last week and was blown away. I had been to La Piazza so I had an idea of what I was in for. Chef Gaetano is a master of his craft and I have never had a meal that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Our waiter gave a great wine selection and was very helpful and attentive. The restaurant itself is small and reminded me of La Piazza before they expanded the restaurant. I had the Champagne Risotto with mushrooms and lobster and I highly recommend this dish. It still amazing the next day after reheating. The portion was huge and I had plenty to take home. The rest of my party ordered the Wild Boar, Halibut, and Potato Ravioli and everyone was as satisfied as I with their choices. We also ordered the Halibut Medallions and Zucchini Blossoms (a must!!!) for appetizers, the Beet Salad and one other that I can't remember the name of but it had Hearts of Palm that were both amazing. I am a coffee snob and the coffee was even good. For dessert we ordered Plum and Ginger sorbet, Tiramisu, Bread Pudding and Creme Brule all of which were incredible. Our waiter gave us some delicious Lemoncello and Panna Cotta which were a perfect ending to a perfect meal. We dined on a Friday night was it was very busy. We had a reservation for 8:00 and were sat a little late but it was worth the wait. I highly recommend having a reservation. Street parking is hard to find on the weekend because there are a lot of bars on Madison Street but Gaetano's has valet for $5. I will definitely be back and think that everyone should try this place at least once in their life. Trust me you will be happy that you did.
Pros: Great food and attentive wait staff
Cons: Very small no bar to wait at
