This bar has a problem with military IDs 11/11/2008

My husband and I wanted to enjoy a drink here, but we never got the chance. When asked for ID, I presented my active duty military identification, which I have used for 5 years at restaurants, bars, and supermarkets without a single problem. I didn't have my driver's license with me because I was not driving that evening. The bartender said that the liquor agency told him to only take state IDs, and we were turned away.\r \r Maybe the bartender was just trying to do his job and follow the rules, but I don't believe for one second that any government agency would prohibit the use of official military identification as proof of age. Military IDs have a photo and social security number and would be much harder to forge and are more tightly controlled than state driver's licenses. Give me a break. I felt disrespected for serving my country, and I won't be going back to this place. more
