I was so excited for my first visit to Nobu! I arrived early just to make sure our table was there and was ?forced? to wait in the bar. The bartender Marcus was amazing; he made me a great lychee martini. I would?ve tried another but we didn?t have to wait as our table was ready right on time. We sat in the main dining room with the sushi bar, beautiful wood tables and these great lights that reminded me of poofy wooden clouds. They also have a ?patio? (it?s enclosed so you can?t smoke, thus not really a patio) and, my favorite, the atrium. The atrium is very intimate, good for a quiet romantic dinner, and has a domed glass roof that opens on nice nights ? I think this is a holdover from L?Orangerie and I?m glad they kept it. \r

Our server helped us pick out a menu ? I didn?t even look at the menu he tried to hand us. We started with some shishito peppers and edemame. I think I got the one in a million hot shishitos! We moved on to the toro tartar then scallop tiradito and rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy sauce . We tried the wagyu tacos ? officially my favorite thing in the world now! I would ask for them for my last meal! Of course we had the original Black Cod with Miso which was fall apart tender and delicious. We finished with some sushi - they had wonderful salmon. \r

We were going to stop at this point but were assured that the desserts were amazing and totally worth the extra button getting undone. We tried the Suntory Whiskey Cappucino and the Macha Tirumisu. The suntory was nice and strong and very apparent - I loved it. It was smallish but amazing, great texture and a perfect bite every time. The tirumisu was great too, very light which is my favorite way to eat sweet things. \r

To make it all the better, everyone I looked at was easy on the eyes. The lighting was nice and the music was good. It wasn't too loud that I couldn't hear my dinner companion, which I thought was rare in LA. Overall I was really impressed. Really Really impressed. \r
