United Auto Credit was previously located in Virginia Beach. We never had any problems with them then. After relocating to Richmond, their customer service has incredibly decreased! When trying to make over the phone payments, their representatives are extremely RUDE and PUSHY! After being three days late on a payment, they threatened to have our car repossessed! They called my wife's office and my cell phone numerous times during the day! This was all over a payment which was three days late! I could understand if we hadn't paid in over a month, but we were always up to date with payments! I let them know that we would be sending a check in and that they would receive it the next day, and they continued to push me to pay over the phone, which would incur a $15 service charge! I told them that I would just go ahead and send in a check to avoid that charge, and they told me to go to Wal-Mart to pay with a money gram. I had no problem with doing that, but later found out that a money gram costs $9 to do. WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST WAIT FOR MY CHECK? It would have been in their hands in less than 24 hours! If anybody is already a customer, you would know that they provide you with a sheet of tickets that you are supposed to include with your check. These tickets include the account number, amount due, due date, and total amount due if the payment is late, which is $15. I didn?t have a problem with paying the extra $15 for being late, but when I told them that I attached the ticket with my check, one lady tried to tell me that they don?t honor what the ticket says. She basically told me that if I didn't pay over the phone, then our car would be repossessed! Are these people working strictly off of commission?!
