Four of us dined at ESG on 11/9/08 and only one of us had an acceptable meal. For appetizers we ordered the Seared Tuna with Wontons and Flash Fried Spicy Calamari only to have our server return and state they do not serve the Tuna on Sundays. We substituted this dish for the Portobello Mushroom Crostini. The calamari was done perfectly but had no hint of any spice and the jalapeno-lime aioli that came with the dish was tasteless. The mushrooms were not very warm, but the gorgonzola sauce that toped the dish was very good.\r

For entrees, the Eastside Sirloin was overcooked and was sent back, unfortunately the replacement was so tough it dulled the steak knife. The Blackened Tenderloin Tips and Scallops faired no better. Very small tips that were overdone and tough and the scallops suffered the same fate to a lesser degree. The Crab Cakes with Crunchy Slaw was acceptable but not noteworthy. The best meal of the night was the Sesame Scallops with Lobster and Sake which was done perfectly and the sauce was wonderful.\r

Having dined at ESG many times over the years, I can no longer recommend this restaurant due to their inconsistency. The restaurant was sold a few months ago, but the new owner has maintained the same staff and cooks so why the steep decline?\r
Pros: Location
Cons: Food quality is inconsistant
