After reading reviews, I made an appointment with Jill. I live in rural Colorado and am afraid of the local hair sylists. I usually get my cuts in Santa Fe or Los Angeles when I'm in either place, which used to be pretty often, but lately I haven't traveled much. So while in town for the Balloon Fiesta, I made an appointment with Jill. I was immediately struck by Jill's full-focused attention (she really listened to me and made suggestions based on what I said) and she indulged my fears about going to someone new by being very reassuring. Jill has a very patient demeanor, she's highly skilled (and very realistic in her approach) and best of all Jill doesn't indulge in the insipid banter other hair stylists sometimes can get into. \r

As I was leaving the salon the four staff members at the front counter were ingratiatingly perky (which, thankfully, Jill is not). The salon itself is smallish, techy (blowdryers hung from the ceiling) and modern which for me is neither here nor there. I just wanted a good haircut, which I definitely got. \r

(FYI, I have straight-ish hair about 4 inches past my shoulders). The coolest thing about Jill's cut is that my hair looks good during the day AND the next morning after sleeping on it. I'll definitely get my haircut by Jill when I'm next in Abq.
Pros: Jill gives great haircut
Cons: Location is a bit out of the way
