Finally a Real Cuban Sandwich 11/5/2008

In the last 3 to 5 years many places around the Metroplex have added a "Cuban Sandwich" to their menu including some upper Gourmet places in which the owner visited Miami and learned the secret to the real deal; in my opinion, they have all failed miserably because of one constant: It ain't a Cuban Sandwich unless the bread is authentically made cuban style and flavor. Sara and Rita, the two beautiful sisters/owners of Cafe on the Square are serving the sandwich the way it should be made; with the right amount of roasted pork accompanying the ham and the cheese and the bread rivals any Miami bakery. I will be back soon to discuss the rest of the menu, today I rejoice on my find! Que les aproveche! Pros: Ambience, Old Downtown Carrollton, the mixture of and old historic cafe with touches of Habana 1515! Cons: The sandwich needs to be a "bit larger" to receive full value on the price. more
