My husband and I were looking into getting a puppy for our grandchildren to enjoy when they spend time at our house. We read on the internet that the Laughlin Kennel had a variety of puppies. When I called for information, I asked the nice young man who answered if they got their puppies from puppy mills, suspicious that they seemed to have one or two of nearly every breed. We read very mixed reviews on your site, 25% of which were negative, but we decided to see for ourselves. The place is very ramshackle and the smell was terrible both inside and out. We told the same young man that we were not interested in puppies that were shipped. He said there were a couple of puppies raised there that we could see. We were shocked when he brought the puppies up. They did not look like normal puppies. One was shaking and shell-shocked but the second one was either very ill or completely traumatized. He could not life his head or respond. He just slumped in our arms. When we put him on the floor he couldn?t stand up. We then asked to see the mothers. That was even more heartbreaking. Both mothers were obviously not used to being outside a cage. One was terribly thin and had very little hair. Neither mother had any interest in human beings and both were extremely skitterish. We concluded that they had perhaps never been out of a cage, except to be bred. We felt sick and helpless. We didn?t want to support this place by spending the between $850 and $1,100. they were charging for these two puppies, but we wished that we could save them. We walked away feeling terrible. Don?t even think about going to this place and supporting this kind of treatment of animals.
