As a general contractor, I buy building supplies 2-3 times a week. I have used Lowe's and Home Depot for the most part in the past, partly because of convenience and partly because of lower price. Then one day it dawned on me like ""DUH!!!"", that I was paying through the nose for my $2-$20 bucks of savings. Waiting in line to get out of those big home stores can be excruciating. Standing there in line, with my job waiting, watching the clerk spend 10 minutes to tally 6 items for the customer, 4-5 customers in front of me is just plain stupid. At 84 Lumber, you will have to move quickly just to keep up with their excellent service. This is not a ""Home Store"" per se, but when you need lumber, building hardware or other construction supplies, there really is not a better or cheaper (in overall costs) store around.
Pros: Fast professional service
Cons: Not enough locations
