I had the privilege of visiting Sullivan's for the first time this last Friday night. We started the night at the bar with martinis. Being a fan of fu-fu girly drinks, I had a strawberry pineapple martini that I enjoyed and my boyfriend had a lime drop which was perfect! I think I have a new favorite martini! The bar staff was very friendly and quick to please. As for dinner, the dining room was comfortable and had a relaxing atmosphere. The group I was with are all fans of steaks, so that is what they all ordered. I believe two of them got New York strips and the other, a filet with sauteed mushrooms. All three looked delicious, but since I cannot eat red meat, I just had to take their word for it that the steaks ""melted in their mouths"". I stuck to seafood. I always seem to end up at fine steak houses where I can't eat the most top rated items on the menu. I actually really enjoy judging places like this based on their seafood. Just slapping a slab of beef on a grill does not take as much finesse and care as perfecting a seafood dish. So, I had a lettuce wedge with bleu cheese and the crab stuffed shrimp with gorgonzola butter. I was extremely impressed! The shrimp was not tough or chewy (as it comes out in some places), it was fabulous! My party was all very satisfied with their steaks. I honestly cannot think of a single negative to our experience at Sullivan's. Even our waiter, Scott, was attenteve and quick to please. I also did not hear or see one loud or crying child. It was a room full of adults and it made me extremely happy to not have to put up with an un-behaved child. I would highly recommend Sullivan's to anyone looking for an experience similar to The Chop House, Del Frisco's or Morton's. It is definitely on par with the finest restaurants I have dined at and I have every intention of going back for a return visit.
