I just called the Fairgrounds Inn to book a room for a family member. Its a big emergency and my family member needed a place to stay for 1 month. I live approximately 150 miles away from the hotel, but thought it would be convienent for my family member to stay at because its handicap accessible and pet friendly (My family member is in a wheelchair and the hotel has many ground floor rooms). I dont have an option to drive to the hotel and book it in person so I was forced to call them. The individual who answered my call was rushed, rude, and unwilling to help me. I asked him how much their monthly rates were and if I could book a room via telephone with my debit card.. His response to me was, ""Call back tomorrow and speak with my Boss, I cant help you with those questions"", I advised him that it was urgent and I would like to book a room for one night only and I will call back later to speak with his boss about the monthly rates and his response again to me was, ""Call again tomorrow, thank you"". Terrible service. I decided to call another hotel in the area and they were more than happy to help me. The Fairgrounds in just lost my business for sure. Pros: Handicap rooms, pet friendly, smoking rooms, near resteraunts Cons: Terrible service, high prices. more
