My family and I have been visiting the osborne center every year for over ten years and have gone to heritage days for a number of those. It is an exceptional place and very educational, and fun! Up until this year we hadn't had one complaint or problem. My mother donated money and had a tree planted in memory of her husband who passed in 1989, and its been kept up very nice. Then last year in july 07 we had a terrible tragedy , with the passing of my 19 year old niece, my sister in laws daughter in a horrible car accident. My brother and sister in law , last october purchased a tree and a beautiful bench in memory of Brittney to be placed at osborne center. We visited there yesterday and was shocked to learn that the bench was in a storage shed never put out and don't know if it ever was last year, we found a tree near our other one but NO NAME was placed near it to know if it was for Brittney!!! We found the bench in the break room of the shed, we were highly saddened at this and i for one am angry, the employee knew exactly where it was but for some reason never remembered, after A YEAR, to place it outside or in the center for all to see.So to say the least the parents are going back up there next week end to bring the bench home and place it someplace for all to see and remember Brittney by! My advice to anyone wishing to buy something in memory of a loved one and place it up there better do it themselves or at least be there constantly to see that your wishes are carried out! (it was an officer we spoke to at the center who said it was his fault, but didn't do anything about it)
Pros: Nice animals, pretty grounds
Cons: lack of employee help, uncaring staff
