The staff at Animerge does ask what is wrong with your pet when your call is received, and often will check with the current doctor to be sure they are comfortable if it is NOT a dog or cat, before advising you to bring your pet into the the hospital. Even if the doctor on staff at that moment sees ferrets, the receptionists have always advised me that they do not have an exotics specialist on staff and are not able to do complete diagnostics on my ferrets or bird. They have advised me that they can do supportive care and some outpatient care, but they never present themselves as ferret experts, and in fact, have given me the names of several reputable veterinarians with more experience in ferrets, Much like the other individual refuting your claim, I have always been quoted the price even when I tell them I have been there before.
