I didn't expect this place to be good when we came - it was just convenient and on the way home. The lights are really dim from the outside and for a long time we never even knew it was there. There were 4 or 5 other full tables when we came in and we were seated right away. My mother and I didn't know what many of the dishes were and the waiter was very helpful. We ordered the papaya salad, bbq pork shrimp rolls, and a bowl of beef pho. The salad came first, and it wasn't what we expected at all, but it was great. The papaya wasn't the sweet, soft orange kind we expected but a crunchy, refreshing white papaya. The presentation was nice and the salad was tangy and crisp. The waiter was very helpful when we asked questions about what was in it and where we could buy these papayas. The spring rolls weren't the best I've had, but they were good enough that there were no leftovers. The rolls were smaller than we expected but tasted fresh and light like they're supposed to. The soup was good too - lots of noodles, just spicy enough, tasty broth, lots of sprouts and basil. I'm not an expert on vietnamese food but I was pleasantly surprised and would come again. It's definitely worth your visit if you're in the neighborhood.
