Ive written a review before but since things have changed and I just received an email from Dublin Hair Company it reminded me of that last time i was there to get my hair dyed. I love how Monica cuts my hair and even recommened her to one of my friends who loves her too now. So this past Sept after my long overseas trip I decided to drive all the way to Seal Beach to get my hair dyed by Monica. Monica was awesome as always and we were having a good time talking about my trip and her upcoming trip as well, while she dyed my hair. Then in walks the owner with his two sons asking Monica if she could cut his son's hair when Monica was obviously busy with me. Well i guess he got annoyed that she was taking a long time doing my hair (keep in mind i have VERY thick medium length hair) Monica likes to take her time in order for the results to be awesome (which they are always). So In the end when it was time to pay(my hair looking awesome) I reminded Monica that last time when I recommended my friend I didnt receive the discount they offered & she agreed, so she was ringing me up and I saw the screen, she was charging me $55 for the dye then -$10 for my discount,then the owner comes rushing to the front and tells Monica basically move aside im taking over, he asked Monica what she had done to me, Monica said a tint and his response was ""JUST a tint????"" obviously he thought she had taken too long for JUST a tint, well who knows what he did on that computer but im sure he added something else because in the end after taking about 10 minutes he said ok your total is $75 with the discount instead of $80. I was so shocked but composed myself and paid up. I love Monica but I refuse to be ripped off by the owner because he is in a bad mood or because he wanted his son's hair cut done at the time Monica was working on me. If Monica moves to another salon she can be sure that I will go with her but until then sadly I wont be going back or recommending any more friends.
Pros: trendy location, trendy styles, Monica is awesome stylist
Cons: Owner not very professional, friendly or welcoming.
