Everytime I talk to someone at The Bridal Shop at the Avenues I get the run around. I have 5 bridesmaids. One was pregnant and due in Oct, Two were out of town, and the other two were in town. I was told by the staff at the bridal shop that all my girls need to come in or call ( for the 2 out-of-towners) their measurements in to the Bridal shop. The explaination of this was to get all the dresses together so you don't get bridesmaid dresses that have slightly different coloring because of the lots of fabric that are used. Ok, makes since right? Well, 2 girls go in during Sept and 2 in Oct ( the one other got her's where she lives in Nebraska) I was told the order would go out as soon as the pregnant girl came in and got her measurements post pregnancy- she was the one we were waiting on. I was also told everyone needed to put a rush $20 extra on their orders because we were cutting it close ( wedding in Feb.) Well in Dec 2 dresses show up. This means the orders were done separately. One of the dresses was the wrong size. An employee clearly wrote size 8 but the owner ordered a size 10. Another problem I had indirectly with the owner of the shop was with my dress alterations. The owner of the bridal shop had told the seamstress she would pay $50 of my dress alterations. (My dress also was way too big. I still don't know if it was the shops fault or the manf. )The next week when the seamstress talked to the shop owner she said she changed her mind and would not help me out at all. I hope to get the word out to everyone. This Bridal Shop is horrible. The owner has very bad customer service skills. All the problems we brought to her attention she turned it around and blamed on me - the bride- She never offered an apology and refused to refund the girls who were overcharged for the ""rush"". I wonder how this shop is still in business. The owner causes too many problems. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE BRIDAL SHOP AT THE AVENUES OR ORANGE PARK LOCATION!!!
