I thought I was getting a good deal in a decent neighborhood as I am a middle income single mom. I deposited a month early and when it came time to move in, the place was the most disgusting thing I had ever seen! My family and I had to spend over 8 hours the day I was supposed to move in just getting it in a DECENT move in condition! I wrote a letter and took pictures of everything and got pretty much no response. A few things were taken care of within a week but six months into my lease I am still left with a hole in my kitchen ceiling, heat that doesn't work, problems with all of the plumbing leaving my kitchen flooded everytime I do dishes or laundry, and no working smoke detectors. Phone calls mean nothing and Wayne could care less what your situation is as long as he gets his money. I have no problem giving him his money as long as I get what I deserve, which I haven't ONCE!!! The only time I got something fixed was when the city was coming for their inspections!! They do NO clean-up when someone moves out before they drag someone else in to a unit - I have seen it NUMEROUS times since I've been there!! The lease only applies to you NOT them and I seriously don't know how the city hasn't shut them down!! I have had them in my place leaving the doors unlocked and OPEN (and the windows) when I didn't even know they were going to be there leaving me to believe that my apartment was broken into and not knowing if there was someone still there!!!! I have lived several other places in Bloomington/Normal and BY FAR this is the WORST experience that I have had and the worst that I have heard most others describe their experience as!!! Save yourself time, money, and headaches and don't even think twice about trying to rent from here - you will kick yourself and be miserable and helpless the entire time you live there!!!
