As a former student of Calvary Christian Academy, I would advise you to please, please not send your children there, especially if you're from a Christian home. The staff and majority of the students there do not act like "Christians" at all. The staff favors the students who go to Calvary church greatly, and are very quick to judge and isolate students. I was raised in a strong Christian family and always had great faith in God...until entering high school at Calvary. The people there did nothing but judge me for every little thing and treat me as if I was nothing. I know myself, and several other people, have turned away from Christianity as a whole for long periods of time because of the horrible examples of Christians we interacted with every day at Calvary. Although it sounds really rude, the people there are blatantly the most hypocritical, poor excuses for Christians I've ever seen in my entire life.
Financially, the school is not doing well at all. There are basically no elective classes, and the sports program has suffered greatly for a number of years. Tuition keeps going up, while quality keeps going down.
Educationally, it is not well equipped. Because of the severe lack of teachers, staff are forced to teach subjects that they never went to college for, and who, quite frankly, are often corrected by their students because of their blatant lack of knowledge.
The one good thing about Calvary was the high-quality Bible classes. However, in my eleven years of experience there, Bible class often strayed from the actual topic of Bibly study. My teachers often took up a great period of class time going on rants of how "all Catholics are going to hell" and "homosexuals are absolutely disgusting" and "we're not required to love non-Christians" just to name a few subjects of things my Bible teacher last year actually talked about for at least a good half-hour in class on more than one day.
Overall, Calvary Christian Academeny is not a good choice.
Pros: Thorough study of the Bible
Cons: Poor teaching, un-Christian-like staff, little to no extracurriculars
