I took my car for the first time(and it will be the last) to Lambs Automotive on Bee Cave for a oil change after i got a coupon behind a HEB receipt. Went in twice and wait times were 3-4 hours each time, so decided to come in later and thought they must be good if they are so busy. Third time went in early morning 7:10am, still had to wait an hour. After the oil change drove 15 miles round trip and then car was idling, so got hot. Suddenly coolant started overflowing. Switched off car and tried to open the hood but hood would not open! Lambs had broken the cable release. I was 1 mile away from Lambs so drove it in. Made me wait an hour. They opened the hood and found that the coolant tank cap was cross threaded/crooked, so it did not seal when tightened. I asked them to fill coolant and screw the cap on properly. Said they did not break the cable release and it would cost $150 for labor alone to repair it, parts extra. I politely declined. Later after i got back home, i decided to take a look under the hood. To my surprise the coolant cap was still not screwed on properly. Fixed that and then took a look at the cable release. It will take me about half an hour to do tops. It is very straightforward. Also i cannot see any remnants of the old cable(if at all it had snapped). Now i am suspect that Lambs released the cable from the place where it was attached and the cable did not break after all. Unluckily i cannot push the cable back to see if the length is ok. Will never visit Lambs again and warn every person out there to not go there. My oil change also cost me $25 (with $18 coupon), at another shop nearby it is $27 (with $24 coupon). Markup from coupon in shop supplies/disposal fee is also a ripoff.
Cons: Opposite of repair shop, will damage your car
