Best Pet Store I've found 9/10/2007

The 1 star ratings are right (though if you look closely they are spammed and likely less real than the puppies they are talking about) puppies at pet stores usually come from puppy mills. This is not always a bad thing but it isn't usually a good thing. With buying a puppy you should always ask for papers and to be allowed to have a vet examine the puppy before any money is exchanged. If somewhere refuses out right then you probably don't want to buy that puppy, whether its an AKC breeder or a pet store or straight from a puppy mill. Puppy mills are sad, but their business will continue whether you buy puppies from them or not, they make huge profits off the dogs; however, puppies from puppy mills aren't always guarenteed to be bad puppies. For realistic advice this is what you should do: go to AKC and find a local breeder, they're the best to buy a dog from hands down. If a local breeder isn't available look into nearby ones that have shipping available. While shipping isn't all that fun for a puppy its a whole lot more fun than being born into a puppy mill and stuffed on a cramped smelly truck. Finally if all else fails and you can't find the dog you want, then the pet store is for you.\r \r Incredible pets is by far the best, they're all very knowledgable and are one of few that let you actually handle the puppies. If you do buy from a pet store just remember to cover all the bases before money changes hands. A vet check-up is a must for any puppy, even AKC breeder puppies (they're just more likely to let you send the dog back if it has problems, most even have a no-problem guarentee) Pros: Playing with the puppies, knowledgable staff, $200 deposit and they'll find you the dog you want, the dog I purchased from them is great Cons: They are still a pet store and likely get at least some of their puppies from mills. more
