Southern Cafe is the best soul food restaurant in Oakland. All dishes are just simply delicious. The service is great. The food is so great there maybe a wait because of the people waiting to order. There have been times there was short of help. That problem may have been solved by now. Access to parking is available.Safe environment. The restaurant is clean & servers are cordial & accommodating. The food is plentiful. I would say the prices are camparative to other restaurant of its kind. Whatever the price the food is certainly worth it. The food is seasoned to taste, never need anymore seasoning for anything. The seating is open & airy. Other diners appear to be friendly & homedown.This is the only place I dine & feel like I'm getting my monies worth. I hope they stay & never go out of business. Keep the business going!
