I recently moved from the west coast (Portland, OR) area where great ethnic food abounds. My fears of only finding ethnic food in the form of Taco Bell and Panda Express the South felt very real in my first few weeks here. I tried several Thai and chinese restaurants in the south (including Franklin/Brentwood) and west Nashville areas. Of 4 so far--this is BY FAR (far and AWAY) the best. So much so that I've gone back a second time. Thai food should be aromatic, spicy, colorful. It should satisfy the senses. Some places here are very ""americanized"" versions of Thai dishes. Jasmin isn't -- it covers all three points quite successfully. I've tried several dishes with only one that I wouldn't rate as ""great""--that could be because I didn't order it with enough spice. Definitely try the Pad Ga Prao and make sure to try their ""relish"" fresh diced peppers in a vinegar-based sauce. It adds that extra kick.
Pros: Great food, great packing on to-go orders, excellent service
Cons: smaller sized portions than other comparable restaurants.
