My wife and I had dinner this past Saturday at Germantown Cafe. The Cafe has a really intesting menu - a little bit of everything (that sounded good) plus some good southern appetizers (the fried green tomatoes were outstanding!). The atmosphere was "romantic" as advertized, the service was superb. Free valet parking was nice. Decent wine list and fair prices. Total tab for 2 was about $100 including tip.
However the main meals fell down from expectations. We had the grouper (catch of the day) and filet medallions. While presentation was good (of course - pile the main course on top of the veggie), they both lacked spice and flavor, frankly a bit bland. I think with a little more attention paid to flavoring the entree I might have given this place 4 stars instead of 3. Pass the cook the shaker!
Pros: Service, atmosphere, reasonably priced
Cons: Bland food
