I discovered this restaurant on accident while driving thru the small stretch of San Lorenzo just past Kennedy Park. I am also not a fan of Hunan Spicy dishes, but i discovered this Hunan Express, is more that great.\r

The service is very friendly and I can tell all the regulars were known by name by the staff. Yes this has the basic menu we all know - Hunan Crispy Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken , Cashew Chicken, Shrimp w/ Black Bean Sauce, and on and on including the noodle chow Mein dishes.\r
\r
But what sets this Hunan spot apart for all the others you find miles from a china town, is the fact this chef creates an extremely tasty dishes cook fresh. We all know that the famous 5.00 lunch plates are for the most part sitting back in the kitchen in steam plates sitting for hours. But this kitchen makes each dish fresh, including all the 4.95 lunch specials.\r

The dinner menu is nicely priced and if you fear the spice as I do.. they gladly to leave the peppers out. And you want to do that so you can discover the amazing flavor of each dish.\r
\r
Favorite of mine is Beef w/ Broccoli, Shrimp w/ Vegetables, and their House Chow Mein Special, all dinner weather you ask or not come with egg or spicy soup. All fried rice plates are amazing.. the best.\r

Parking is easy in the back or on the street. This Restaurant is easy to miss as you drive south on Hesperian. Its invisible unless you slow down to look for it. Its right on the street but since that part of the street has a high speed limit. Its easy to miss. If you have drive past The Arco station you missed it.\r
\r
This a great place for family's and lunch. Its crowded with the regulars, but its worth the wait. $3.00 to 12.00\r
