We were surprised by our highly unsatisfactory experience with La Promenade (Tenafly, NJ), as we had heard good things. In truth, the cake they made for our wedding tasted fine; unfortunately, it was the wrong cake. It wasn't even close to what my fiance (now wife) and I ordered - wrong flavor, wrong filling, wrong icing. \r

My bigger complaint, however, is that when we let them know of the mistake they couldn't have cared less. Eventually they offered to give us a small cake for personal consumption, which wasn't the point. When you order something (and pay for it in advance, of course), you expect to get it. And when you don't get it, good, ethical businesses make it right. Others handle things like La Promenade did.
Cons: Awful customer service; take the money and run for wrong order
