The wife and I are in the market for a new SUV. After a search on the internet, we located a car at Howell Motors in McComb (90 miles South of my home), and called to enquire on it. After agreeing on a price, I mentioned to the sales guy that I would need ?x amount? for a trade in, and then provided the details of our trade and asked ?is this possible,? stressing the importance that the number be close. He said ?we will be close; come on down.? I left work two hours early and drove the 90 miles south, to discover there was a 20% ?gap? in our prices. I realize it is difficult to provide a trade in amount over the phone, however I do believe it is possible to give an estimate within $1,000 or so. These guys knew full well they couldn?t meet my number, but suckered me into wasting four hours of my time, plus $50 in gas, to drive down; and then didn?t even offer to compensate me for my time or gas. If you are like me and only like to do business with honest people who still believe in the concept of customer service, I would suggest NOT doing business with Howell Motors in McComb.\r
