UPDATE: I have now been married for three years, and though I had a wonderful experience in the store, I deeply regret having used their alteration service.
The alteration lady was cold and non-communicative. And the worst part is, she didn't listen to my concerns that the dress did not fit properly after it had been altered. She argued that my undergarments would ""fill me out"" and that the dress was best just skimming my body instead of being form-fitting (the way the dress was originally designed). I was shy and trusted that she was the professional so I complied and did not have the dress further fitted. Now, whenever I look at pictures I get a little sad. The dress was clearly too big in the bust and hips and was not as flattering as it could have been.
Long story short, girls, the shop is lovely and has lovely dresses, but DON'T USE THEIR ALTERATION SERVICE unless you are prepared to fight for what you want. And, if you're shy like I was, buck up and make sure whoever alters your dress does it exactly how you like it, or you will regret it later.
..............
I'd been wedding dress shopping all day, trying on so many dresses they all started to look the same! I was tired and almost cancelled my appointment, but I'm so glad I didn't. Amber was so personable and fun. (The other girls were too). She listened to me and understood exactly what I wanted. I'd been pining after dresses by Melissa Sweet and Claire Pettibone, but could never afford them! I wanted a stylish, vintage-y, lace sheath. Not too romantic or princessy or tableclothy. Every dress she pulled was beautiful, unique and reasonably priced for the quality and attention to detail. I ended up buying the very first one she chose and I love it! I also bought a very reasonably priced long veil and a great necklace that matched my ring and pearl earings perfectly. Even though I could tell she wanted to sell me the whole package (dress, shoes, underthings, accessories, bridesmaids, etc), she was sympathetic to my budget and not too pushy. Although the dress I did buy was a couple hundred more than what I'd been hoping to spend, it did not compare to anything else I'd tried on. It was so worth it. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll still love it when my June wedding rolls around!
Pros: Great service, fun girls, wonderful dresses, layaway!
Cons: A little pricey, they'll want to sell you everything
