Even though the Meal Price is listed as $$$$, you can eat at Strings on a regular basis by enjoying the bar menu. You can even order off this menu sitting outside on the patio while people watching, but we do enjoy sitting in the bar when Chris (or it could be Kris) is bartending. She is friendly, personable, and mixes great drinks. A personal favorite is the Beef Carpaccio, which is served on a chilled glass block. I don't know if it's the presentation or just a better cut of beef, but it's my favorite Carpaccio in Denver. There's also a tempura-battered chicken nugget that comes with a dipping sauce. It's a McDonald's McNugget that went to finishing school. It comes with a dipping sauce that seems to change seasonally. The only drawback to this is if you really liked the dipping sauce at one point and it changes, you can't ask for it. But that's not much of a flaw. I think I've only ever ordered off of the main menu one time, and I'm sure whatever it was was delicious, but that bar menu lets us order a lot of items to mix and match and is generally inexpensive. There is valet parking at the corner of Humboldt and 17th, but you can usually find parking within a block or two. All-in-all, I really enjoy Strings and have no real ""con"" to list.
Pros: The Bar Menu, The Bartender, The homemade ice creams and sorbets
Cons: I've never experienced a con
