Dying to go to Le Tub especially after Oprah?s ?Gayle? rated it the best hamburger in America? we finally went on Saturday, August 11, 2007. I sat and Googled the place before I left and bad review after worse review jaded me. But, I am a true foodie and I went with an open mind! From minute #1 I was greeted happily by the parking lot attendant who was upbeat and up to date on the 45 minute wait. Lucky for us, friends had gotten there ahead of time and our table could not have been better. Right out on the water, beautiful view? Okay, it?s Florida in August, it?s hot but I was prepared and the waitress immediately asked me what I wanted to drink. 5 minutes later, cold beer in hand, I had no recollection of the various bad reviews I had read about Le Tub. No, it?s not a 5 star place but a casual burger place with great fish dip and down home atmosphere it is! My burger was good, not sure about the best in America but I would definitely say it rated! Service was good, others were friendly and the fries were great too. Overall, it was all I expected it to be. Nothing more, nothing less. Growing up here, I always passed by it but never gave the place a second thought. I think all those bad reviews came from people whose expectations were way up there due to the Oprah / GQ hype. It?s a great little place for a casual bite and a cool breeze. I?d recommend it for sure! p.s. They only take cash!
Pros: casual
Cons: takes an hour to get a burger
