Steinway Court Vet totally suprised me. My husband and I lived in Manhattan for years and we spent a lot of money on pet care at the "best of the best". When we moved to Queens we continued to bring our cats into Manhattan simply because we thought it had to be more state-of-the-art than what was available in our area.
Eventually new neighbors moved in across the hall from us and they were also cat people. They started taking their cats to Dr. Glasser and recommended him to us. So we decided to try him out.
He is an amazing vet. He truly loves the animals and to that end is very, very thorough in his examination and treatments. Yes, it can get expensive, but medical care is expensive - period. We don't find his prices to be unreasonable.
He has his own lab on the premises and so you can get initial results quickly in an emergency situation. This enables him to start treatments immediately thus giving your pet better odds of a successful recovery.
We had a much beloved cat who came down with kidney problems when he was 14. We had been through this before many times before and despite all the money we spent on high-end vet care, 6 to 8 months later we were always heartbroken when we lost our cat. But this time was very different. Our cat lived an entire two more years, happy, healthy and active right up until the last day. The treatments prescribed by Dr. Glasser were very comprehensive.
Some people say he isn't respectful, but we never found that to be the case. Sometimes he can seem a bit abrupt and even rushed, but it's only because he's so absorbed in your pet - that's where he's focusing his attention. He gets to know each one of your pets individually and even develops his own relationship with them.
His credentials and background are top notch. He's the BEST VET WE HAVE EVER HAD, and my husband and I have had many cats during our 23 years together.
