I am stickler for service and this place gets a zero in my book along the lines of excellent customer service.
We had reservations and when we walked in we were asked to wait, by the way, the resaurant was half empty at the time. Therefore, we waited and waited and finally we asked the hostess when we saw people who had arrived after us being seated she replied " we were getting your table ready" we were like you have to be kidding there were about 20 empty tables. Second, we order several entrees which were the size of a small golf ball, and severly overpriced, and taste like a stoffers TV dinner. The crowd was a weird mixture of some industry types, hollywood wanna bees and out-of-towners. Our server was friendly and attentive, however, the managers and hostess were rude and ignored us as they walked around and greeted those they thought would write reviews in local magazines ( put two and two together). This place looks romantic on the inside but there are so many other places in LA to go where the food is good and its enough to feed an average adult without having to order like 5 entrees which they encourage so your bill can come up to 200 alone on food. Additionally, the music is very loud and they kept adjusting it...not sure what volume they wanted to keep it at and overall the staff especially the managers and owners need to take some lessons in hospitality. If you live in the neighborhood and cant find anyplace else to go for a drink ( which is very unusual considering your on sunset) then by all mean go to One and waste your money on overpriced food and drinks to say you have been in the restaurant of the moment. In closing this place will not survive on its miniture and tasteless portions of food, rude staff, and over priced drinks. Dont say I didnt warn you!!!!
