Best Sushi East or West Coast 7/14/2007

Ok, so I have lived on both the east and west coasts (NYC, SF, Reno, and Here) and this is by far the best sushi place ever. They are a staple in Reno, and there is ALWAYS a wait there Voted best in Reno for oh probably 7 or 8 years at least). The same family came down here and opened this one, much to my delight. This is the best for a couple of reasons. They have a great all you can eat all day long. Lunch is only about 16 or 17 and dinner is 20 or 21. On the east, all you get is tuna and california rolls, here, you can have WHATEVER you want. You can sit at the bar and order piece by piece and roll by roll. They will take special orders, and they have great imaginative rolls already on the menu. If you love a roll at another place, come with a list of ingredients, and you will get it. The service is great, and what I really love is that these guys have fun. They know how to read thier guests, and if you are talkative, and having a good time, they will joke and have a good time with you. If you are there for a "romantic" meal you can sit at the tables and order the all you can eat as well. They also have regulr menu items for those that don't like sushi, but want to come along, and it's great too. If you are looking for great, fresh sushi, in a fun atmosphere, this is you place. If you are looking for a place that looks cool and has lot's of tourists, this is not it. Okay, I talked myself into it, and I am on my way to Sushi Cub now! Pros: Food, service, value, freshness, local feel, parking, crowd. Cons: If you are looking for a fancy upscale place, this is not it, but they are working on it. more
