A HUGE rip off and LOTS of unhappy customers! 7/31/2007

My sister and I are both physicians and our mother was just diagnosed with breast cancer. We decided to get a wig before she lost her hair and looked up the closest wig store. This place will charge you a $100 ""consultation fee"". They will give you hand outs of ""medical advice"" on how to deal with chemotherapy, push you to buy nutritional supplements from a health food store near by, and tell you repeatedly not to trust your doctor or your nurses. They did not know that my sister and I were physicians. I'm glad I didn't tell them so we could see their true nature.\r \r They pushed the most expensive wig they had - about $5000. They said every wash and style was $75 and that had to be done every 6-8 weeks. They said there was another charge for styling and cutting the wig. They told my mother NOT to get a chemotherapy port as they ALWAYS get infected. I have seen what chemotherapy medications can do to fragile peripheral veins. The risk of infection of a port which can be treated with an antibiotics vs the risk of permanent damage to your peripheral veins is not even a comparison. And for a person selling a wig to give medical advice is apalling and unethical.\r \r AND they really tried hard NOT to give us a receipt for the $100 consultation! Which means they probably don't report all their earnings for taxes.\r \r Another young cancer patient went there and they told her that men tend to leave their wives once they start losing their hair so she really needs to get the most expensive wig they have. She left there crying. Another young girl they gave a ill-fitting poorly styled expensive wig and she refused to leave the house. It wasn't until her parents went and got another wig that she finally went to the mall.\r \r These people are unbelievable. To take advantage of the most vulnerable people at their most emotionally trying times - it is beyond unethical. STAY AWAY! Cons: cost, gives unsolicited and WRONG medical advice, lots of hidden charges, more
