We've been making our way across the Bridge from SF to Fred's pretty much every week for the past 7 years and it's remained a consistent favorite. The French Toast and Pancakes are both incredible and since it changed hands a year or so ago the new owners have kicked it up a notch with real maple syrup, great fresh fruit, and the addition of a credit card machine. They were smart enough to leave the basic character of the place intact and they still deep fry the french toast and squeeze the orange juice right there at the counter. There's also a wide range of sausage available from chicken apple to lincuica to bratwurst served with mustard. They bought an espresso machine recently but I'd be ashamed to order a latte there, out of respect for Fred's ""greasy spoon"" past.\r

I almost hate to review Fred's because it's getting to be a longer wait for a table and we'd like to keep it a secret. Still, they always remember our order and take such great care of us so they've earned it. Plan a 10 - 20 minute wait or a table if you get there after 10:00 on a Saturday or Sunday.
Pros: Awesome breakfast!
Cons: It's starting to get pretty crowded.
