This is the only time I have been frustrated enough to want to tell everyone that to never go to a company. My car had an issue with its transmission, in that it would not reverse any more. I took it to 5 star transmission on Friday the 13 of July 2007 and asked them to tell me what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix. They said they would look at it right away. An hour later, the manager called me saying that my transmission was over heating and that taking it apart and putting it back together might fix the issue. I said; ""As long as when they put it back together, it would still be able to drive forward and that I didn't want to pay $500 for a diagnostic as their advertisement stated it would free."" He assured me that this was the case and it would be completed on Monday night, so I consented. I rented a car in the meantime. I called back Tuesday morning as they did not call me on Monday. They told me after pulling the transmission apart they could not put it back together unless I paid $2800. I told them to just put the transmission back into the car so I could drive it to be traded in. They told me that they could not do this. I told them this was promised to me on Friday and that they need to uphold their part and finish it today (Tuesday). I called back the next day and still they had not worked on it. I told he again we need them to work on it because we are paying money per day for a rental. He said he still needed the $2800 to fix the car. Now that the car is apart they think they can charge me anything they want. It has now been a week with our any help or progress on my car, and all the managers involved are MIA. Please never go here.
