As a big fan of Mexican food, it's nice to have a number of options in the southern suburbs. El Loro in Savage is one of the better Mexican places I've been to overall. The variety of food and taste is on par with just about any other Mexican place I've been to, but the drinks do leave a bit to be desired which makes El Loro average overall.\r
I would recommend the Chicken Enchiladas and the Tacos de Carne Asada. \r
The sheer volume of combinations you can get at El Loro is worth the drive even if you live in the northern suburbs. Whatever you crave, you can pretty much put in a combo at El Loro.\r
Also, the ambiance is very good. It has a down home Mexican/hole in the wall appeal to it. It gets busy on the weekends, but otherwise you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a table. \r
