After driving around for 30minutes looking for a restaurant in Tampa..( I live in Orlando). We found Ybor City....the whole atmosphere there is just soo cute and historic. I reminded me of New Orleans. Sooo I was really ready for good food. After scoping out the other restaurants I spotted Big City in the Corner upstairs. I peaked in the door and It looked similar to Antonio's in Maitland or the Exchange Lounge in Downtown Orlando...but waaay more ""relaxed"" shall we say. So we find our way into the Dining room and it's soo intimate and relaxing. The Hostess was soo Nice and Southern. She sat us promptly and found us a great spot. Everyone looked as if they were having a great time. Soo our waiter gets to us and he never introduces himself he just asks us are we ready to order. I was thinking hold on did I miss something. So we order the ""pot-stickers"" for our 1st course DELICIOUS. Then our ""complimentary"" bread came ...it was supposed to be Foccacia. Wrong it tasted like ""faux"" bread. So then I we ordered the main course. Blackened Chicken. It was pretty good except the supposed baguette it was on. But the chicken itself was good. Onto dessert and we still don't know our waiters name and he's talking to his friends and drinking when he should've been waiting on us. hmmm sounds like grounds for termination. So finally I ask the waiters name , Robert. We go continue with our dessert Creme Brulee. Now this tasted pretty gosh darned Big City. Overall including drinks and tip I think we spent $45. Not bad. So here's the moral when going to Big City don't eat the bread and don't let Robert wait on you and if you're used to Orlando it will not meet your standards of comparable places life Antonio's Cafe Maitland or The Exchange Lounge. But the atmosphere is really nice and romantic. The management, staff, and cooks were all very nice, except what's his face. Happy Dining
Pros: ATMOSPHERE AND LOCATION
Cons: I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE BUT YOU MAY HAVE A GOOD ONE
